These are the lines that I chose for the Gertrude Stein poem. The poem A smaller section of the passage “A Cushion”
I originally thought I would like to interpret this poem though type animation with after effects. I felt uninspired though using after effects and felt lost in how I should represent these words though a video. That is when I decided to take a more analogue approach to this project and thought to make an ASMR video.
I really enjoy ASMR videos, and I thought it would be interesting to combine this poem with ASMR.
I focused on getting the sounds from the crafting process of the during filming. I focused on using the marker, paper, pen
After collecting all of the video footage I brought all of them into premier pro and collaged them together, thinking loosely of the order of the poem, as well as focusing of the colors that are recited in the poem.
I also though about the ASMR sounds that are over lapping each other. I thought it would be interesting to include whispering of the poem in the background as well so I included that upon review.
I am very happy with how this turned our as an ASMR fan. I got some feed back about how I might be able to push the colors more which I was able to take a look at. Over all I though this project was very fun and playful because I did not show the end result of the illustration I made so I felt less pressure of how the text looked all together. I also had fun with this video because its almost like a crafting DIY video, and I have always been a fan of them since I was a young kid. It’s interesting to see me on the other side of making the video rather than watching it.
